Okay. Sooo I recently went on FB and made a short story post about these LONG and elaborate hairstyles I see trending today. So yeah, if you are returning to read the rest of my article just pop on in to paragraph 2. So I keep seeing these long braids and faux locs styles trending on the web and everyone is asking about these styles.... Do they really promote growth? How long should you wear these styles before they become damaging to your hair? You know questions like that. So I found some information on the web, about what to look out for when getting these types of styles. So as I stated before........

They are very cute styles and may look great on many people, but the ideal is to PROTECT and PRESERVE your hair right? So when getting these hairstyles installed, you want to ensure that your hair is not going to be damaged with the added weight and stress on the hair from the length and the tightness of the install. The added weight can be damaging and stressful to your hair follicles. So don't be afraid to tell your stylist "Not to tight"!. Also you want to make sure that you do your research on your installer to be certain they are aware of this rule of thumb when installing. It never hurts to know a little about the person your trusting with your royal Crown right? Be sure to Wash, Condition, and moisturize your scalp very well a few times when wearing these styles. This prevents breakage and promotes healthy growth.

I recently had the urge to try something new and started installing some faux locs in m head right......... when I tell you I had to stop in mid progress and take them outtttt, due to the stress it was starting to put on my hair. I mean that. I could not take it!!! I tried a few different ways to, and each way I did it caused mass stress on my hair and I was not pleased. So I took them outtt A.S.A.P. I like to do things like that from time to time so that I get a feel for what my clients have to go through and the process it takes to complete the style. I like to time myself and do practice runs to get faster and better at what I do. So now I just educated myself on a few things about this style. I know the process can be done a few different ways. I know how tight NOT to install them. I know the time it will take approx. to do this install. So just by doing it on myself, I learned. which Is the best way for ME to learn. I can't speak for everyone else lol.

Me taking out the last few I had left............. I could not wait to get these out !!! I am a transitioning natural and I am not use to this type of tension on my head!!! I learned how to install them the right way and less tensionful. which is a PLUS!!!! I will be posting pics of anyone who has requested this style and given me the opp. to install it soon.

With that being said, my next post is going to be about the Pros and Cons of wearing Faux Locs and Faux Locs V.S. Box Braids. Stay tuned for more....
